Akira and Sam | Haldi Ceremony

The Haldi ceremony is one of the pre-wedding ceremonies that marks the beginning of a Hindu wedding. This was the Haldi ceremony of my brother, Sam, and his new wife, Akira. The Haldi ceremony took place at their home, in Johannesburg, the day before the wedding. It is a ceremony where a paste of Haldi, made with turmeric, is applied on the bride and the groom’s body, by their near and dear ones. The mixture is believed to bless the couple before the wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and the perfect start to the most amazing wedding weekend.
